Longitude is a thought leadership specialist that is part of the Financial Times Group. We are looking to recruit a skilled, passionate and resourceful Research Operations Manager to join our dynamic, fast-growing team. 

Role overview

The successful candidate will help prepare research-based proposals in response to various client RFPs, negotiate with and manage our fieldwork vendors, ensure high levels of data quality in our work, smoothly set up and run a wide range of survey projects, and more. While the core of the role is well defined within the business, there will be latitude and freedom to use your expertise to help continue improving how we operate today. You will report to the Delivery and Projects Director.

Key requirements

1) Taking responsibility for the quality of our research deliverables. This includes: 

  • Overseeing the scripting, translations and programming of CATI and CAWI surveys, via our third-party vendors;
  • Ensuring the delivery of accurate data tables and charts, in line with agreed data specifications;
  • Being the primary point of contact for our third-party research suppliers, building close working relationships. 

2) Supporting our commercial team in winning new business. This includes:

  • Being the primary consultant and point of contact for our commercial team on research proposals;
  • Helping shape research specifications that deliver on our clients’ objectives, while still being commercially attractive for the business;
  • Sourcing, evaluating and challenging third-party fieldwork quotes from various vendors. ;

3) Supporting the Research Ops function. This includes:

  • Tracking and reporting on our live portfolio of research projects, from initial proposal stage through to final project completion.
  • Potentially line managing a direct report.

Skills and experience

  • Marketing services and/or research agency background or similar
  • At least 4 years experience
  • Research methods, management and operations
  • Technical tool proficiency: Decipher, MS Office and G-Suite
  • Organised, detail-orientated, self directed, highly energetic, professional and adaptable.
