Brexit Exodus: How many job losses have been caused by Brexit

Brexit Exodus: Where is everyone going?

Research from FT Longitude reveals the impact of Brexit on London’s job market.

No official statistics exist – and many companies are reluctant to be transparent on their planning. But, FT Longitude analysis shows at least 6,266 job relocations had been reported by 26 companies by the end of March 2019 – a key date in the Brexit timeline.

The biggest mover was HSBC, relocating nearly 1000 of its London-based jobs to France over the next couple of years, whilst the European Medicines Agency moved its head office to Amsterdam as a direct response to Brexit. Many more job relocations or losses will have not been reported, so the total may still be far higher.
